Brief History:

It is the British overseas territory. It has 60 different islands which has their own special uniqueness and diverse character. The BVI (British Virgin Island) was first occupied by the Arawak and later by the Carib Indians. The Virgin Island was developed by the Dutch in 1648 and then the English took the possession of it by 1672. From 1872 to 1960 the island was a part of the British colony of Leeward Islands; they were approved independence in the year 1967. The Island is interdependent on some of the US Virgin Islands, the main islands are the Virgin Gorda, Anegada, Tortola and Jost Van Dyke.
